Failed to initialize renderer

I have a problem during startup. When I start Fallout 3, after about 2 seconds an error and two windows appear. One window is the game itself (black and shrunk) and the other is an error that says: Failed to initialize renderer. I have already download latest patch and installed two times. I have an ATI Radeon-9600

Re: Failed to initialize renderer

Your graphics card is too old. Minimum requirements for fallout 3, the following are necessary:

Direct X 9.0c graphics card with 512 MB (nVidia GeForce 8800/ATI 3800 series)

Re: Failed to initialize renderer

If the game crashes .....

The words "initialize renderer" make me really think about a problem DirectX, but from what you have done, reinstall the latest Dx, reinstall the game and patches, then see ....

Re: Failed to initialize renderer

Hi,

First Download the latest patch from Fallout 3 v1.1.0.35 patch.

Then follow the steps mentioned here - Fallout 3 crashes.
