How to install XP from Jump Drive

I want to install Windows XP on my computer because Vista is irritating me a lot. But the problem is that I don't have floppy drive or cd/dvd drive. Is it possible for me to install it some other way? My friend gave me a jump drive which he told, contains the Windows XP. What is jump drive? Is it similar to pen/flash drive? Well it looks quiet similar. How can I install Windows XP from a jump drive?

Re: How to install XP from Jump Drive

Jump drive is nothing but a USB flash drive from Lexar which provides high-speed, high-capacity storage. The jump drive comes pre-loaded with Secure II advanced security software to protect your data. The key characteristic of a jump drive is that it allows a starship to be instantaneously teleported between two points.

So, in short, you can install Windows XP as normally you would from your USB pen drive. Just for your reference: Install Windows XP from USB

Re: How to install XP from Jump Drive

If your system allows you to boot from the USB drive then try using some usb drive to install Windows XP. And yes, jump drive is a kind of flash drive manufactured by Lexar but it is much more faster then any USB pen drive or flash drive. You can definitely use it to install Windows XP. The method of installation would be same as that of other USB drives.

I want to add a key point to this discussion that you may need to have some settings Enabled in order to detect the jump drive on your computer. Normally every motherboard have settings in the BIOS which doesn't allows the USB drive detection on your computer. There may be some technical reasons but that's truth.
