    windows startup moving start

Hi to all guys out here,

yesterday my computer infected by a malicious program it says win 32:vitro trojan-gen my computer already had installed avast it requested d me to reboot so that it could do a scan pre-windows.done with that, It reported lot of programs infected while scanning before Windows loaded. it took a hell time to complete the search..so after that the problem has arrived
Now the computer hangs. It'll boot up, get to the "pastoral" background of windows, but nothing loads up - no icons, no start bar, but am able to move the cursor with the mouse, It boots to the "welcome" message, then loads up the windows background and then does nothing.i doubts any start up program deleted by avast which been infected ??now am using the secondary hard drive .Is there a way to get the other HD running with Windows? Can I just scan it again using avast? Any help would be appreciated. i need to retrieve some files from that HD help me please

    Thanks for you patience...

i assume that some system files are corrupted /missed by the malicious software..now i would say you to try to collect all the system files from microsoft and put the files system 32 folder on your computer
    good luck for you

This seems like a serious problem, back up your data and reinstall Windows. To reinstall Windows:
Get (or make) a DOS boot floppy. Boot the computer from the boot disk.
Insert Windows CD-ROM and, Run setup.exe from the CD.
