how to get Mac Fonts on Ubuntu

Hi, as you all might be knowing from previous i am a Ubuntu user. Today i saw a Ubuntu system having Mac OS fonts. It was looking great. Even i like the fonts installed in MAC. So i would like to install those MAC fonts on my Ubuntu system as well. Could you guys make me know how can i do that, please ?

Yeah, it is possible to install Mac fonts in Ubuntu system.Here is the simple way to download and install Mac fonts to your Ubuntu and use them:-

Run the terminal on your Ubuntu system from Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal.

Now paste this command in the Terminal:

http://ubuntu-debs.googlecode.com/files/macfonts.tar.gz

Once you press Enter after this, it will download all the fonts for you. Now to extract the fonts, you need to paste this command in the terminal:

tar zxvf macfonts.tar.gz
sudo mv macfonts /usr/share/fonts/
sudo fc-cache -f -v

Thats it..Now the Mac Fonts are installed.you can use these fonts from System -> Preferences -> Font and choose the fonts appropriately.

• AppleGaramond
• Aquabase
• LITHOGRL
• Lucida Grande
• Lucida Mac
• lucon
• MacGrand

you can customize your system fonts by right click on your desktop and select Change Desktop Background then click on Fonts.
