Installed by default on some computers for PowerCinema.so the file is for the remote control of "PowerCinema" responsible. Without this program can be "PowerCinema" no longer associated with the remote start.

pcmservice.exe is a part of the Dell media experience software. This is a multimedia application but also it is not must to have this process running on the system, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

It is not a virus,Not malware but it is a memory hog which required huge resources .It installed on Dell laptop, related to Cyberlink Power Cinema and part of MediaDirect so Uninstalled MediaDirect can be solution
