Could not find this item - Vista problem

I need to delete a folder in my Vista system. The folder contained a wmv file which I have already deleted and currently the folder is empty. But when I try to delete the folder I get the following error message:

"Could not find this item... This is no longer located in C:\users....
Verify the item's location and try again."

How do I get rid of this problem ? please help

Check whether there are any hidden files exists in that folder. If present then you need to first delete those hidden files and then your main folder.

Reboot. This time start your PC in the Safe Mode. When you turn on your computer, keep on pressing F8 until you see a screen pops out that lets you choose to use safe mode. Once you are there in Safe mode, login as Administrator. Browse to the folder and delete the folder.

Try to run chkdsk from an elevated command prompt. Check the drive with the /f /r adders like this, chkdsk c: /f /r

This solves any drive problems you may be facing. Note that if the drive is really bad, chkdsk may not - in fact - complete it testing. In that case, replace the drive.
