Files with app.exe.config doesn't work in Vista

I have some application that are based on .Net that work on XP but doesn't work on Vista? This problem is not with all the applications but with some. Also some applications work when ran with XP compatibility mode but some still gives problems! Can anyone help me? Is the problem regarding app.ece.config file? i tried deleting them but still no luck!

I would first recommend you to install c++ and .net redistibutable package. May be that can cause problems or may be installing them can solve the problem too.. Vista is a BAD operating system and everything or anything is uncertain for it... But a try is worth it...!

There are always problems with Windows Vista. But this problem may be solved but not hundred percent sure though. The config files are named as app.exe.config, rename this file to app.config by removing exe from the name. May be this helps to solve your problem...
