The Linux equivalent of Sun command 'prtdiag'

Hey, I wanted to find information about Ram and processor of my machine in which there is RedHat Linux 5 installed. I have come to know that in Unix, there is a command called prtdiag for this purpose. But I think this command is not useful in this Linux. So is there an equivalent command of prtdiag that can give such information in Linux?

I am not actually aware of what exactly prtdiag does. But you can try dmidecode, lshw, lspci, lsusb, x86info, ethtool. I think lshw and x86info are not included in RedHat.

None of the above commands In fact I have also tried psrinfo and sysdef, but both came back as "Command not found". prtdiag gives a nice overview of your current hardware configuration and any known hardware failures.

Most of the hardware information can be extracted from /proc file system, for example display CPU and Memory information, enter:
    cat /proc/meminfo
    cat /proc/cpuinfo
