    Missing OEMBIOS on Gigabyte

I am facing a serious issue when installing Windows XP on my old computer. It started as normal but all of a sudden Windows says it cannot find oembios.bin file. I am having Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L motherboard. Where can I find the OEMBIOS.bin file for my Gigabyte motherboard?

If I try to skip this file, I get the same old blue screen of death.

The oembios.bin file goes with "Winlogon Support Files" component. You can
think that Windows logon depends on that component. However it is invisibile so you cannot see it. It can only be viewed by changing the MinVisibility value for TD in registry.

    1) Boot in Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Login as Administrator.
    2) Insert the CD-ROM from which you installed Windows XP
    3) At the command prompt type: copy C:\I386\OEMBIOS.BI_%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\oembios.bin
    4) Reboot.

The common issues with this type of error includes:

    1) If your CD in proper condition. I mean without any scratches, etc
    2) Is this a legal copy of Windows? You can check this by booting in Safe Mode, right clicking My Computer and selecting Properties
    3) Is the bios updated? You can reconfirm this by going to the Gigabyte website

Where do I copy this to? Is it the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\system32 folder?

Or did you mean to put a space in the middle of: copy C:\I386\OEMBIOS.BI_[In here]%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\oembios.bin ?

You don't have to provide any kind of space in between. You just have to type command as it is and the file will be copied automatically. So if you are looking for same the follow the same and see whether this is working for you or not. Do let me know if this is not working for you i will try to find more solution for you.
