Hi All,

I have brought a new dell inspiron 1525 Laptop with Windows Vista installed. i tried to install SQL Server 2005 in My laptop but it wont allow me to install.

I need to install SQL Server, so that i have format the C Drive and installed Windows XP SP2, after changing the harddisk mode from AHCI to IDE in BIOS.

After Successful installation of Windows XP, i tried to install Windows Vista as dual OS. But Now i am getting Error

"Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation. Error code:0xE0000100"

Any Body Please help to install Windows Vista over Windows XP SP2 on my Dell Laptop.

This problem occurs because Windows Vista setup does not recognize a partition if the last DWORD value of the partition size is 0.

I had the same problem in a new unit at work. Turned out to be the RAM. Replaced the RAM and it worked fine.
