Downgrade server 2003 from 64 bit to 32 bit

I just recently bought a Windows Server 2003 64 bit version for my laptop. Now after using the 64 bit version for some applications i will required the 32 bit version of server 2003. I am confused what to do. I had already purchased a server 2003 license copy. But i don't required it now. Is there a way to install the 32 bit version of windows server the the license key of 64 bit version. If it please send reply.

This is not quiet possible. You said that you purchase a license copy of Windows Server 2003 x64 and now you want to change it to 32 bit version. There is no tool available which can convert the 64 bit to 32 bit version. It you are having a 32 bit version CD of window server then you can try to get a patch from the net. But you cannot use the 64 bit version key for the 32 bit version. The simple solution will be buy new Windows Server 2003 x32 ver license copy.

Try to connect to Microsoft and look for the Downgrade Rights. If you have downgrade rights for your Windows Server Edition then you can try to downgrade your software from 64 bit version to 32 bit version. Basically you will need to perform a clean install of the 32 bit version by formatting your computer. There is no way to use the 64 bit license with the 32 bit. May microsoft people can resolve your issue.

Re: Downgrade server 2003 from 64 bit to 32 bit

    Hi,
I doubt weather there will be a way to downgrade Server 2003. Normally each original software comes up with it own unique license key. It only supports the software with it comes. Microsoft designs different specific key for different software's. You cannot use a license key of Windows Server 2003 x64 version to install Windows Server 2003 x32 bit version. Now, you will need to purchase a new software or use the old one.
