Modify a registry key [CURRENT_USER] in vista

    Hello,
Can someone tell me how to modify a registry key in Windows Vista in the CURRENT_USER not log into the workstation with the account in question?
Does this information is stored somewhere in a file .Dat or other and are accessible remotely with admin access?
    Thank you for your help

I believe what you are looking for is stored in the file C:\Users\username\ntuser.dat.
With regard to the amendment, I think you can achieve this by:
In regedit, select File, Load Hive and navigate to the ntuser.dat file you wish to modify. Then make your changes before exiting (very important here), be sure to do a File, Unload Hive.

The HKEY_CURRENT_USER is in the same place in Vista - the problem may be the elevated security that is required to access it.
One way is to right click on the program and select "Run as Administrator"

OK, I have found this article which explains the situation:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/07/01/UAC/

In view of what it is saying I think I will rewrite the program not to use LOCAL_MACHINE, and change the Windows Service to run under the users account.
