    Windows 7 RC 32-bit or 64 bit

Which version do you think is the best the 32 bit or 64 bit, my graphic card supports both standard ?

What difference is there between the two versions ?

    Thank you

If you run 2 or 3 GB of ram, took the 32-bit .... if you have 4 GB takes 64 bits, not to mention that you can have concerns for the 64 drivers and programs that are not many 64-bit

one, the 64-bit supports more than 3 GB of memory. The other, 32, was against all the drivers and more software.

It seems that 64 bit is slightly faster than 32 bit, but not all software and drivers are compatible with 64 bit, so I think it is preferable to choose the 32 bit!

I will start with the 32. Even when I install the latest 64 in a corner, see what it's worth, but in my opinion, it is not until the early / mid 2010 to be reasonably "comfortable."

I tried both in beta, and the difference in speed did not seem significant, at least on my setup.

Re: Windows 7 RC 32-bit or 64 bit

I have just completed preliminary installation of the 64-bit Windows 7 RC Build 7100, running on an EVGA 750i mobo with Pentium D Extreme CPU and 4 GB RAM + RAID 0 on 2 WD 500 GB drives (= 1 931GB drive)

    No internet connection yet.

I am pleased with speed and stability displayed thus far. (Only apps installed are Sun OpenOffice and 64-bit iTunes.)

I am waiting to install my Invidia 64-bit graphics drivers for the BFG 260 card until the remaining issues have been resolved. (BTW, I intend to install another 4 GB identical RAM this week.)

    Here are my questions:

    1. I have installed the SMB and Network drivers recommended EVGA but cannot install the Storage drivers - causes lock-up.

    2. I have no USB 2.0 speed on any port, although 1.1 + 2.0 shows enabled in BIOS.

    3. I cannot use a Microsoft wireless USB keyboard or mouse (also, I have yet to see the PS/2 ports recognize an older keyboard or mouse)

    4. I am "shopping" for recommended antivirus solution for 64-bit Win7. Recommendations?

I'd truly appreciate any insights or advice to finish my troubleshooting.

Thank you all ahead of time and Aloha from Hawaii!

    Randall
