Re: Can't change boot order in xp

Hi,
There are many possibility that depending on the model of your computer. Some older computers do not support booting from CD. If this is the case, you may have to boot from a floppy disk, or upgraded the BIOS on the motherboard. Try holding your f11 key from start-up to see if that brings up a menu with a 'boot from CD/DVD' option. You will need to press it about 2 or 3 seconds into the boot sequence.or there is another possibility is that the CD isn't a bootable CD. You could try booting from a known good boot disk to verify.

When you install a new system, or that your system and damaged and you need to boot from a CD to repair,It is possible that your motherboard does not support booting from a CD.ometimes the computer boots from the hard drive, even if you put a CD in the drive. All you have to do is create a boot floppy, switch to the CD, and run the setup.

If you still can't boot from the cd then there is either a problem with the cd drive or perhaps if you are using a copied installation cd it wasn't done properly and is not bootable.
