Drive write caching disabled in Windows 7

Hey!
I cannot enable write cache for my disk. Being SATA II i want to take full advantage of the disk speed but i cannot as write caching for drives is not enabled. How do i enable write caching in windows 7? Help guys! It makes me feel like i have wasted my money... Thanks if any help...

Have you installed the SATA drivers that came with the motherboard or its the Windows 7 default drivers that have been installed? If you have not installed the drivers manually, i suggest you install the drivers that has come with the Motherboard CD for Vista. This may help you. All the best!

If yours is an intel chipset motherboard, download the latest SATA/AHCI drivers which are available. Though not originally from intel but it works and its worth a try. Download the drivers from here All the best. Do post back if this doesn't help!

Thanks for the quick replies. Well i will try both the methods. First i'll use motherboard drivers which are intended for Vista if doesn't help, i'll download intel drivers and give it a try. By the way mine is Intel G31 chipset motherboard. Thanks again. Will try these and post back.
