How to install Qemu on a Mac Os x Powerbook

    Hello

I am very sad because I install Qemu on my Powerbook, but I do not hear anything.

I downloaded the latest version (qemu-0.10.1.tar.gz) and I've unpacked. This has created a folder on my desktop and then I dodn't know what to do.

I have therefore thrown into the trash.

Then I wanted to try another method. Ie using MacPorts.
I downloaded the MacPorts for Tiger (OS my Powerbook) and have installed.

This has created a folder called "opt" My Mac HD.
I do not understand how to do it using MacPorts.

In short, Google has not been my friend on this one (problem-solving for Linux, that, yes, I have found, but for Mac, nothing) and I have not found anything more about the forum.

Could someone help me or give me a link to a solution?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Hello,

Have you tried and succeeded in downloading OS menu "PC emulated" Q?

    Thank you in advance

    Hello,

You can run XP on your PowerBook by purchasing either Microsoft's Virtual PC for Mac (no, it's not the free one, VPC:mac costs a fair bit of cash) or using a similar emulator such as Qemu. I think, you need an Intel Mac to run Windows XP via a Boot Camp install or virtualised through Parallels. Your PowerBook doesn't support either because it uses a PowerPC processor. These are emulating an X86 processor within your PowerPC Mac and as such make Windows run very, very slowly - I believe at around 533MHz P3 speeds - fine for small applications but not for anything more demanding.

    Hi,

All you need is to install with the correct --force option of dpkg. For codecs. You can't use qemu at all which means that you'll be able to use loose x86 apps but no x86 libraries or codecs.
