Microsoft yesterday launched the Release Candidate (RC) of its new operating system Windows 7. For the moment only available for MSDN and Technet subscribers, the RC will be downloadable by the general public from May 5 The launch of the RC still marking a very important step in the development of Windows 7, Nvidia did not want to miss the boat and the media in parallel offers new GeForce graphics drivers just compatible with Windows 7 RC but also with Windows Windows Vista and XP.
GeForce 185 drivers for Windows 7 finally
These new GeForce drivers are part of the experimental series were 185 and version number 185.81. They therefore reflect the same improvements that the previous version 185.68 beta to support GeForce GTX 275, the support of the SLI Antialiasing, improved performance in several video games, support for CUDA Technology 2.2 and support the course of the Ambient Occlusion improves the realism of 3D scenes using optimize shadows applied to 3D objects.

The GeForce 185.81 beta drivers are compatible with chipsets GeForce 6 Series, GeForce 7, GeForce 8, GeForce 9, GeForce 100 and GeForce 200. Note that the models GeForce 6 and 7 only supports the WDDM driver model 1.0 and not version 1.1 which does not allow them to exploit all new graphical features of Windows 7 as DirectX Compute, Direct2D, and DirectWrite DXVA-HD.
