FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FOUND HERE:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549/en-us#appliesto

JUST CLICK ON THE MICROSOFT FIX IT ICON.

After the program fixes the error, it will ask you to restart your computer.

I hope this solves the issue.

Re: Windows 7 "Application Data" folder missing

I think that those who are not able to see this Application Data folder because it is a Hidden system folder. And this can be easily viewed by opening Windows Explorer and go to any folder and then just by pressing ALT on the keyboard, which will normally show the Menu Bar, then click on the Tools and then Folder Options. After that just click on the View Tab and then choose the "Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives" and click ok, this will let you see each and every hidden folder in the windows explorer.

Re: Windows 7 "Application Data" folder missing

This is a obvious issue that you face in Windows. Here the application folder does not disappear really. Due to some reason, the folder gets hidden or is not accessible to the existing user. There can be some user limitation if you are not logged in Admin account. So it is recommended that first you unhide the folders and then check back. Another thing you can do, is access this folder from command prompt.
