    Cannot Eject USB Drive in Windows 7

    Hey Guys!
    I am using windows 7 build 7077. Everything is running well and i'm loving this OS already... But I have a problem... Whenever i plug my USB driver then after using i try to "Eject" It gives me some error like " Some program is using the disk and cannot be removed right now" Well something like that...! It was working fine before and i don't know what suddenly happened and now the OS cannot eject USB disk... Can any one help me...!? Thanks!

    Would you like to mention any detail for this? Did you update your Windows 7 and then this happened? Or did you install any software? Well if your Anti-Virus has USB autorun protection then try to eject the disk once you disable the USB protection... Might help...! All the best...!

    Hey!
    I have the same problem on my Computer, but mine is Windows XP Pro SP3 machine. I don't know why either. Rarely, it will work but most of the time it doesn't.

    Heya!
    I suppose that a previous application may not have completely released it.
    However, although I don't have an answer, only a couple of suggestions. I
    wonder if the same problem occurs if you don't actually access your flash
    drive. In other words, if you 'just plug it in', wait a few moments, then
    attempt to "Unplug or Eject Hardware", do you still get the message? If yes then there is possibly a virus which is accessing your Flash Drive...!

    I opened the Resource Monitor and it turns out that every time you click to Eject, the 'system' accesses the &LogFile and &Mft making the computer think that the drive is still being used.
    The is why we have beta testing.

    open the Start->All programs->Accessories->System Tools->Resource Monitor
    and check to see that nothing is writing to the drive then just yank it out!
    I doubt this will cause damage.
