Re: Error 0x7c8399e4 while closing Windows XP Pro SP2

Stop all Symantec services.

Locate these two files:

c: / program files / symantec / Semantec Endpoint Protection / sysplant.sys
c: / windows/system32/sysplant.sys

Change the names of these files (eg sysplant.old.sys)

Restart the computer.

Solution 2

Start> Run> regedit> OK

Locate the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ SysPlant]

Change "Start" to DWORD: 00000004

Quit and restart your system.

Re: Error 0x7c8399e4 while closing Windows XP Pro SP2

I do not have Symantec on my PC, it can come from something else?

Here is my configuration:

Dell Latitude D630 Laptop
Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU GHz T7500@2.20
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M
3.50 GB RAM
Windows XP Pro SP2

Firewall: Windows
Virus: McAfee + McAfee VirusScan Agent
antispyware: McAfee Anti-Spyware
+ + Ad-Aware Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

This error occurred as a result of manipulation ...

Disable the shields Malwarebyte's residents and Adaware just to let a single asset that McAfee Anti-Spyware. Restart your system and see if the symptom persists. In addition once we have solved this problem, I advise you to disable the Windows firewall which is far from being protector and use a more powerful firewall. But every thing in his time.
