Re: vista or xp?
I would go with vista, buy a laptop and windows vista and sooner you can get free upgrade to windows 7. forget windows xp now. Think for windows 7, i'm testing beta and its far better than xp.

Re: vista or xp?
Well, I am using Windows XP at my place and most of the users say around more than 75 % of the users are still using Windows XP even after Windows Vista was released long ago....
Windows Vista offers new and really impressive graphical user interface but requires atleast 1 GB RAM to perform reliably.
If you were XP user and want to try something new, you can switch to Vista, or else remain with XP.
