Found a solution here. Follow the following actions :

    • On start up , press F2 to enter BIOS
    • Expand the "Drives" section
    • Go to "SATA Operation"
    • Change this from "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA"

    Good luck

Refer to this microsoft help : Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop 0x0000007B" errors in Windows XP

    Hope this will help.

First, go into BIOS and verify that none of the settings is too high. You don't wnat to OC anything while installing.

Second, if it's hardware you need to isolate it. My experience is that the most troublesome component is the PSU. It looks like another component is failing if the PSU isn't able to power the system. If you have another, higer quality PSU, try it. If not, pull everything out of the system that is not esential for installing windows, use intregrated video of the board has it. Only use one stick of RAM. If it fails to install, use the other stick of RAM and try again.

If you still have an error, you need to start replacing components. If you don't have CPUs and PSUs lying around you will need to have a shop diagnose it for you. It's probably the PSU, memory or motherboard.

When you boot the laptop, it will generally show you press "some" key to enter setup. This "setup" is BIOS. For dell the key is F2. But you need to check it out. I hope this is useful...

    Hi friend,

If you want to get rid over the 'STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)' error, for that you need to make some changes in the 'BIOS' setting. For that you need to select the SATA Operation from the BIOS section known as 'Drives'. Then you need to adjust it's value to 'RAID Auto/ATA'. Try this and let's see you are still getting same problem or not.

I bought an Acer 4736Z laptop recently. It came with pre-installed DOS. I tried to install windows xp on it. After booting, a blue screen(0X0000007B,0XC0000034...) appeared while installing as stated by the friends.

I tried the solution given by them. But I couldnt find the "Drives". In BIOS, after Boot order, "Main"-->Under Main, SATA Mode is there and in that, [AHCI] is there and the other option is IDE.

I browsed in the net and found that IDE and ATA are both the same. What should I do? Any suggestions please...

    With regards,
    Nishanth.

re. RVSN12 query about S-ATA options in BIOS.

This Stop message comes about because Windows needs a specific S-ATA driver unless it is to use its own. So in the BIOS if your AHCI option is enabled, you must first load the specific S-ATA driver when it's asked for in the initial loading of Windows.

If you don't have it - which is the most likely event - change the BIOS option to IDE - then Windows will install OK using its own default driver.

AHCI is the acronym for the Advanced Host Controller Interface. It is a new interface specification that allows the S-ATA controller driver to support advanced features like Native Command Queuing and Hot Plug. It means you won't be able to use those features - but it's no big deal.

Can you tell us your computer specifications? If you receive one of these error messages while you are installing Windows XP, update the computer BIOS or obtain Windows XP drivers for your hard disk controller (from the manufacturer of your computer, system board, or hard disk controller), or do both. For information about how to update your computer's BIOS or obtain Windows XP drivers, contact your computer manufacturer. More information here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

Only if you can tell us what is the make/model of your motherboard then we can get to know what kind of BIOS you have onboard? Usually, there are many Different Types of BIOS, if you can search on google for some information. There are many types of BIOS chips including some newer 8 pin chips that are soldered to the motherboard.
