How to change "open with" option in Windows

Hello friends,

I am facing an issue while opening any file on my PC.I am having an xls files which should get open in Excel, which is not happening.Is there any way to force xls files to open with Excel.

I would be very thankful to that person.

Sure i will help you out with this before that may i know which operating system are you using.

I am using Windows XP SP 2 as my Operating System.

Sure i will help you out with this issue try to right click on the file and choose Open With, it may happen that Excel would not be there in those programs; so select Choose Program; again Excel if it is not in the Recommended Programs nor in the Other Programs.Try to click on Browse and go to where Excel is installed and select the exe.
