sometime i have the windows startup repair running and after a while system restart but when it restart i dont see the screen where they normally ask me my user pasword and then after see my desktop, what i see it more a black page where some writing and number is write, but only on one line, its suppose to go from 0 to 77418 (0/77418) but when it goes to 2001 it stop there and this is what write on my total black screen at that moment,
``0xc0190036`` 2001/77418 (drvinst.exe)
when i see that on screen it freeze there, that message blink on and off but the count stop there does not pass 2001/77418
if i do a force restart, when it open i see option startup repair (recommended) and start windows normally, if i choose reapir it goes back as i say before and if i choose start normally it goes directly to the balc screen witht the count 0/77418....
i dont know what else to do anymore and not sure whats going on, system was working all great before i do that updtate.
hopefully its nothing serious.

Vote As HelpfulHi Marto107
Thank you for using Microsoft Vista Forums.
Let’s start this troubleshooting simply by using Last Know Good Configuration. This will return your system back to the very last configuration that worked before this issue.
Follow these steps:
1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
2. Do one of the following:
o If your computer has a single operating system installed, repeatedly press the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again.
o If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.
3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER.
4. Windows will then resume starting normally.
If it is an update issue, the best way to fix this is to only apply your updates one at a time.
Click Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update, click Change Settings from the left menu. Select Download updates but let me choose whether to install them, click OK. When you are notified to install a new update, from this window click View Available updates, uncheck all updates and select one at a time, install it, restart your computer, test, and update again. Once you find the update either continue to skip it, or look it up at http://support.microsoft.com/.
Please reply and let us know if your issue is resolved or if you need further assistance.
