STOP: C0000221 Unknown Hard Error \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll

    Hello everyone,

My PC has suddenly stopped and I restarted. The PC stops after I hear a suspicious noise. This is twenty times that I suspect that noise monitoring of the shutdown of the PC. Sometimes it was during the same time the screen "Windows XP Pro" with the blue progress bar appears as noise is heard and then the progress bar does not move and I have rebooted the PC.

I opened the case but I can not find anything wrong but it is a specific sound.

During reboot the PC was still stop on a blue screen displaying this:

STOP: C0000221 Unknown Hard Error \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll

What this messages means? and what do I do?

    Thank you very much

Regarding your problem ,here is a link:

    http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=k...4474&x=20&y=14

so if there is a somekind of driver problem,i think you must try firstly to replace the ntdll.dll, take your windows XP installation cd and boot into recovery console,if you have a second optical drive or floppy disk, copy a new version of ntdll.dll, see below:

    http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?ntdll

so find the location of the file on your current installation, must be C:\Windows\System32\ or %Systemdrive%\Windows\Sytem32 and replace it with this new one from the link,if this not help,i'm sure there is a copy of the ntdll.dll on your windows installation cd ,but if it's stored in a cab file it will take little longer to find it, give it try

    Good luck!

After the 20th time I doubt that there still have something to read on the hard disk.

but I think it really should not "play" in and take him to a technical service (hard to verify a physical pc via the forum ...).

A quick Google brought me to a number of articles in Microsoft's support site. Per the link below, it can be anything from bad/damaged hardware to a missing file.

Best recommendation I can make - do a complete reformat/reinstallation of WinXP. If the problem persists, and you haven't installed any pirated or unknown software, then it's a hardware issue.

    1. UNPLUG THE POWER TO THE COMPUTER
    2. OPEN THE CASE
    3. UNPLUG YOUR HARD DRIVE RIBBON AND POWER CABLES AND PLUG THEM BACK IN.
    4. CLOSE EVERYTHING UP AND PLUG IT BACK IN
    5. POWER IT UP

You should find the problem solved.
