Re: How to Install .run packages in Ubuntu

Hey there!
When you double click a .deb file, it will start the install and the installation will begin with a package manager. But when you double click the .run files, it will open with an archive manager and that will give you error. It is because it is not an archive and its an installable package. So open your rpm files with the package manager. Might work..!? I have never tried thought...! Well do post back...! All the best...!

Hey!
Yeah thats right... So after your post i just tried it out... But it won't install. It says file type incorrect or the file is corrupt..! Is there any third party software or a built in software that will let me install .run files on my system? Please help! Thanks in advance..!

Re: How to Install .run packages in Ubuntu

Hey!
First know what a .run file is. It is a package but it cannot install in Graphical User Interface. It needs a command line interface...! I am not sure about what command to use but you can do this : Double-Click on the .run package file and it will ask for you to choose from 4 option. At that point, Click on "Run in Terminal" and it will be installed...! All the best...!
