Computer automatically wakes up from hibernation

Hello there,
I have a problem with my computer's hibernation mode. My PC will always awaken from hibernation after midnight. It gets rebooted automatically. I have windows vista running on my computer. Can anyone help?

Thank you all who reply.

Re: Computer automatically wakes up from hibernation

In windows vista, hibernation settings can be adjusted from the windows GUI. Click on the start button, in the search bar type "power". The search results should return "power options" under programs. Click on it. Choose the power plan and click on "change plan settings" directly. In the edit plan settings window, click on "change advanced power settings". In the advanced settings window Expand "sleep", then expand "allow hybrid sleep" and click on the drop down to select "yes". Now, expand "hibernate after" and select the drop down to select the amount of inactive time the computer will wait before hibernating. Click OK.

The WakeOnStandBy utility can help you to solve the problem. It is based on a single Windows API that allows to signal a waiting event and resume a thread at a predefined time. This utility can also send your system back into Stand-by mode. You can also use it as a scheduler to run programs on timer without involving Stand-by mode. You can download it here.

Re: Computer automatically wakes up from hibernation

It can wake up if some programs are doing auto updates. And if you have Automatic Update to install updates at or after midnight. Disabled automatic updates for programs if any. Checks your core system files or dll's to see if they are corrupt or missing.
