Recommended modems for ubuntu

Hey guys!
I am using Ubuntu 8.04. I still use a modem internet and don't plan for a high speed internet untill my new Rig comes... Can you suggest the best type, manufacturer and model of modem which would be suitable for Ubuntu...! Help guys!

Hey there!
Almost any external serial modem should work fine. I'm not talking about USB serial modems as i have no idea about it... I have a Zoom Fax Modem that worked perfectly. I needed a Windows box to upgrade its firmware, though. [Dial-up]

Dial up modems are on a verge of extension... Though the better one that i used ages ago was D-Link dial-up modem...! Internal as well as external are good... But there are no specially designed modems for specific operating system... Anyone will work fine...
