    Missing file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32...

Hello, I have a problem in my startup that displays this "Missing or corrupt file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SYSTEM".
I try to correct this with the xp cd. But it is impossible, the PC can not boot from the CD. I reorganized the boot sequence by putting the CD player in first position. But the problem remains. Help me. Thank you
    I need a better sig...PM me.

first check if your XP CD is bootable because I know that some are not. and if the repair system is not working, I presume that you will have to re-install complete light because of the message that you got ... look on google but normally you have a key combination at startup that the PC (BIOS) allow you (if you ever do) from pc to reinstall your factory settings but I think it does only once, for bring it to work with a Packard Bell.

If you have an xp instalation disc you can try booting into the recovery console and running a check on your hard drive and file system. Here is a link on how to get to the Recovery console

Once in the recovery console type "chkdsk /r" without the quotes and press enter.
This will check your fileing system and harddrive for errors. (It may take a while).

Were you trying to copy from your XP CD? This is assuming that you have a full version XP CD (not an OEM).

If so did you try all these possibilities:

If your version of XP is OEM (pre-installed on the computer) you will need to follow the manufacturers' recovery options.
