    How to Turn BitLocker On or Off for Internal Hard Drives in Windows 7

    Hi friends,

    I have heard from my friends that in Windows 7 it's possible to Turn BitLocker On or Off for Internal Hard Drives.But they don't know how to do it.I have also try to find it over internet but not getting a perfect solution.

    Can anyone help me out over here.

    Sure i will help you out with this issue try to follow the below steps:-

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Click on Control Panel and click on the BitLocker Drive Encryption icon.
    3. Click on Turn Off BitLocker for the non operating system internal drive or partition letter that you want to turn off BitLocker.
    4. Now click on the Decrypt Drive button.
    5. BitLocker will now start decrypting the drive. Click on the BitLocker icon in the taskbar notification area to see the encryption status.
    6. When finished, click on the Close button.
    7. The Control Panel and Computer will now have the Turn On BitLocker option again for the selected drive.
    8. Now your internal drive or partition is now decrypted by BitLocker.

    Thanks for replying me but the above steps is for Turning off Internal Hard Drives in Windows 7, before that i need to turn it on.

    Following are the steps for Turning on BitLocker for Internal Hard Drives

    1. Click on Start menu and click on the Computer button, then right click on the non operating system internal drive or partition letter that you want to encrypt with BitLocker and click on Turn on BitLocker.
    2. Now select Use a password to unlock the drive, then type in a password you want to use to unlock the drive and click on the Next button.
    3. Click on Save the recovery key to file option.
    4. Finally click on the Start Encrypting button.
