Cannot Boot to windows XP

hey guys!
I have a computer with windows XP installed...! When i was working on the computer there occurred a power failure. When the next day i switched on the machine, i cannot login into windows, everytime it shows me the Option for windows XP like : Safe mode , last know good coniguration and all...! No matter what option i select, Computer reboots on your own...!
Can anybody help me..!

Boot from bootable XP CD Then on the first screen press "R" Now you will enter the recovery console. There press 1 then press enter. Now type fixboot press enter then type fixmbr and press enter... Now reboot you computer... Your problem would be fixed if that was the boot files issue...! All the best...

Thanks for making some time out...! But forgot to mention... I tried recover console but failed, i tried to press enter at the first screen so that it would detect my Windows and ask me to repair but it didn't now when i am at the drive selection screen to install windows, my C:\ is shown as unknow [File System] Help guys!

Hey!
I read the post, I guess that your windows partition had crashed due to power faliure... Sometimes due to sudden power loss the information you are accessing get corrupt and this might have happened in your case... The only option you are left with is to Install windows all over again..!
