Is Windows folder taking all the space

Hey guys!
I have a computer with 50GB of C:\ drive. I have installed windows XP several times and the old folders have been renamed to windows.old.000, windows.old.001, and so on...! Can these folder take a lot of disk spaces? how can i delete the unwanted files...! How do i regain disk space in drive C:\? help guys..!

I think it is not safe to delete them. I doubt that the computer ever uses those files. May be, they were made so you could get system settings that you had before... i'm not sure though...!

Clear them out it and claim your disk space back...! They are of no use..! These files are backed up so that if you have some personal settings in that, you could use those folders, Windows never use those files anyways...!

Yeah, delete those folders, as they are of no use.. But make sure you don't delete the files that reside outside the folder like IO.sys and other system files...! And delete the Folder that are made out of scanning the disk like found.000 found.001, etc...! Also clear your recycle bin and temp folder... You will get a lot of free space now...!
