    Problem with partitioning under vista

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem resizing partitions on Windows Vista.

The PC has an SD partitioned into 2.
-1 C: X gigabyte (With Windows Vista installed on it)
    -1 D: Y gigabyte

I very much want to resize the partition D: (decrease then increase) but, I can not resize the partition C:.

What I want to do is to re-allocate disk space free of D: on C:

Is this feasible and if not I am forced to format for a re-allocation manner.

Thank you for your help ....

    Hi,
You can turn to QParted or GParted to do that (they run very well now NTFS).You should "move" D on the "right". The Windows tool does not do it.
QParted or GParted are free and available through multiple media, including live-cd Linux very easy to use.

Can you tell me what it means to "move" right "?, Compared to what?

Re: Problem with partitioning under vista

For now you have the following pattern:

    [[Partition C] [D partition]]
the entire hard drive partitions are allocated to C and D (no matter free space within them, just look here on the hard disk and its partitions in cutting).

The purpose of the maneuver is to reduce D (within the limits of available space at the end of D *) to have a vacant space. You should know that this reduction (just like the extension), unfortunately for "by right":

[[Partition C] [D partition] [unpartitioned space]]

To "move" towards the right (end of disk) => (Windows manager does not support). The GParted very well:

[[Partition C] [unpartitioned space] [partition D]]

Finally, you can extend C with the non-partitioned
