Can I remove J2SE Runtime Environment?

Hello all,

I Have two icons Add / Remove Programs Which We Accesed Through Control Panel and both are similar, I wondered if I could delete the following program:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5.

I have this Installed in my System : Java 6 Update 12.

Hello , Problems can occur if you are running more than one version of Java as they can cause conflicts with each other. Furthermore, Java has a nasty habit of not removing older versions when updating to the newest so you have to uninstall old versions manually. Assuming that you are in the Administrator account, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and uninstall everything that says J2SE, Java and Java Runtime. Reboot (some computers require a reboot to complete the uninstall process). Then go to the site below and download the most recent version of Java. Afterwards, in IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab and scroll down to the Java section and tickmark the "Use 1.6.2 (version changes with each update) for applet". Click Apply, Click OK and reboot (a reboot is required for some computers for the settings to stick).

Hello , You can Follow the Step to remove the update incase you do not the procedure
Removing Old Versions of Java Runtime Environment:

• Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu.
• Select Add or Remove Programs.
• Locate the J2SE Runtime Environment Updates in the list.
• Select the outdated version and click Remove.
• Click Yes to remove the update.
• Repeat steps 2-4 for all versions of Java Runtime Environment except for the most current version.

Yes you can delete it! , All you need is JSE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 5 then i Think the other versions that you do not get need should be removed as when the update is installed are not removed .
