Re: Win 2000 Password Expired

I am having a similar problem. We would like to change several of our administrative passwords but are concerned about the problems that will be created as a result. We have legacy applications as well as services and scheduled tasks that use various administrative accounts. Changing the passwords on the accounts that run those applications/services/tasks would likely result in dozens of services, tasks and programs not working.

Re: Win 2000 Password Expired

Hi,

Try the following steps :
  1. Click the Start button (usually located at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen). This will bring up a menu.
  2. Click on Settings. This will bring up a submenu.
  3. Click on Control Panel. This will open the Control Panel window.
  4. Double Click on Users and Passwords.
  5. The Users and Passwords window will open, showing a list of all user accounts on the computer.
  6. Click on the Advanced tab.
  7. Click on the Advanced button.
  8. The Local Users and Groups window will open.
  9. Click on Users folder to open.
  10. Double Click on the user name on the right, to get the Properties for that user.
  11. Click on the General tab.
  12. Click on Password never expires to put checkmark in box.
  13. Click OK.

Re: Win 2000 Password Expired

Hi,

Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Local Security Policy. Expand the Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options branch and set the value of Prompt User To Change Password Before Expiration as desired.
