Detection problem while formatting disks

I have a presario c700 with vista basic, I tried to format to install xp but when configuring my pc is a message saying that there is no hard drive detected, I try again several times but it didn't work.

It requires drivers to your hard drive and install by F6 while installing XP starts.
"Press F6 to install third party drivers. Otherwise, without hard disk drivers, it does not recognize.

Try another disk. if it doesn't work then check the cabling and whether the drive is set to Slave or Master and that the cable is connected properly.
