    hi,
Turning off Windows Search’s Index doesn’t disable Windows Search. It only bypasses using the index. Bypassing the index will slow down searching significantly. If you’re searching for something that might have not been indexed yet, you can bypass Windows Search’s Index to try and find what you’re looking for.

Disable the Indexing Service in Windows
Open “Control Panel”, select “Administrator Tools”, and open Services applet. Alternatively, type services.msc in the Rn text box from Start menu, and then hit Enter.
Scroll down and locate Indexing Service service, and then double click on it.
Click on Stop button to immediately stop the indexing service if the service status shows “Running.
Under the “Startup Type”, select Disabled to permanently disable the indexing service so that it won’t run again.
    Click OK.

If you would like to disable the service, follow the steps below.

    1. Left click on My Computer
    2. Right click on your hard drive
    3. Left click on Properties
    4. Click on General tab if not already selected
    5. Click on Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching which should disable it.
    6. You may need to repeat if you have additional hard drives
