    Windows 7 7100 x64 to 7127 x64

    I am trying to upgrade Windows 7 7100 x64 to Windows 7 7127 x64. After inserting the Windows 7 7127 x64 DVD and proceeding with the installation, I got an error message saying 'You can’t upgrade this prerelease version of Windows 7. Go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.'

    I followed the link but I got the below list in which I am not interested:

    how to:
    1. Upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 ;
    2. Migrate files and settings to a new computer;
    3. Upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 ...

    So, can you please tell me how can I upgrade from Windows 7 7100 x64 to Windows 7 7127 x64?

    As of this moment, there is no absolute way to justify an upgrade from one version to another. And why do you want to upgrade to 7127 x64, isn't the build you have is supported? However the only possibility is to clean install or just stick with the version you have.

    Well I want to upgrade to 7127 because I have heard that it is excellent and faster then previous of my release giving better performance. There is no other reason actually between switching the Windows 7 build. I will try doing a clean install and see if that works. Thanks!

    1. Download the ISO on the computer in which you want to perform the upgrade and burn the ISO to a DVD.
    2. Copy the whole image to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from.
    3. Browse to the sources directory.
    4. Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad.
    5. Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the down-level build.
    6. Save the file in original place and original name.
    7. Run setup like you would normally from this modified copy of the image and the version check will be bypassed.
