problem with xp lisence

I installed XP with no lisence in it and is currently inactivated.

If I get a new licence only, not related to my installation, will it work, or do I need to get a new CD as well?

Where did u got the copy of this XP???

I suspect it is an illegal copy as all legal copies come with a license code to key in. If this is an illegal copy it probably will not activate anyway.

I suggest that you contact Microsoft Licensing to sort this out.

How can you not have CD key? so its mean you not installed the OS to your computer.
Because for install OS you need CD key.

yes it is possible if u hv the same version of XP...!
