    Could not access program in two operating system

    Friend,
    I received a pc today. it was running with Windows me operating system. unfortunatly I could not run windows me.

    So, I installed xp over it (i didn't format hard drive c). Now pc working fine in xp os,

    But, I was installed Ms office and accounting packages there, I could not run those programs...

    should I reinstall those programs ? or do you have any idea to run it under windows xp ?

    pls help me...

    Yes you have to reinstall all programs again. And how did you installed windows xp over windows me? for that you have to format the drive and if so then the installed programs doesn't exist now.

    Take the backup of your system, then Uninstall and reinstall Ms office again.

    Yup , You had to reinstall Those Software as the Registry entries for those softwares got deleted after installing the windows xp .

    Do you mean that without formatting the drive that had Windows ME on it, you have installed Windows XP on the same drive? If yes, then you will have to format that drive and use either one of the Operating System or otherwise there would be software incompatibility and many issues. This practise is to be avoided at the very first phase.

    Yes,
    I am unable to format the pc, becuase there are important files. that's why I tried to install xp without formating me...

    any way, I will try to back up the important files and format the c...
