Hey guy!
I have been using Ubuntu for a quite long time... Now i want to install Windows XP while keeping Ubuntu as it is! I need to boot from Windows CD, but notthing happens when i reboot with my installation disc already in the drive!
Help!
Enter bios and set the cd drive as the 1st boot device, Save changes and exit bios setup utility [F10 - shortcut]. Hope this helps you... This is important as you need to install an OS from the CD-Drive so the computer must check it as a first boot device...
All the best!
Hey..!
You will need to install Ubuntu again once Windows is installed. This is because Ubuntu offers and asks where the boot loader has to be installed but windows doesn't as and always installs the boot information in the first sector of the hard disk disabling any other OS installed...!
All the best...!
Hey There!
Thanks guys! That was really cool info... I thought i would install windows on my computer and it will dual boot with my Ubuntu as Ubuntu does it when there already exists a Windows OS in the computer... MS are too greedy people...! Anyways... Thanks once again guys! I'll do the setup as you guided me...!
