    hi!
If you bought a new one first verify the RAM frequency of both the RAMs your old RAM and the new one. Are the frequencies same? If no then you got to get a same frequency RAM... Try to switch ON you system while only the new RAM is installed.. Does your new RAM work?
    All the best...!

    Hey there!
Well, i guess the issue is of frequency mis-match of your RAM and the one supported by your motherboard...Check : Does your motherboard support the frequency of your new RAM? If not then you cannot use the non-compatible RAM on your main-board, It could cause severe damage if you keep the RAM installed in the system...!

    hi there!
I have a doubt if there is anything to do with the frequencies...! Whats the Operating system architecture? i mean is your operating system 32-bit ? [also know as x86 version] If it is then you really wasted your money dude...! Processor Architecture plays a crucial role in addressing memories. As yours is a 32-bit processor it can address only 2^32 bytes of memory which is equal to 4294967296 bytes or 4GB. If you want to use more then 4GB memory, it is advisable to use 64-bit operating system! 64-bit Operating system can address 2^64 byes of memory which is equal to 18446744073709551616 bytes which equals 17179869184 GB of RAM. Thats Huge Huh? Enjoy!
    All the best...
