Why third party programs face difficulty while installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 ?
Significant changes are made to many files and processes to improve the system security, reliability, and functionality of Windows XP. As a result, when you install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), these changes can affect some third-party programs.
There are number of programs that experience changing affect while installing Win XP SP 3.
Some of this programs and their symptoms are :
Program : ATI Catalyst - Unified Software Suite (version:8.2)
Symptom : You can no longer rotate the desktop screen by using ATI Catalyst software.
Program : XPize (version:4.2)
Symptom : You lose the XPize settings, and the third-party themes no longer work correctly.
Program : Neat Receipts (version:3.0)
Symptom : You cannot install NeatReceipts 3.0 in Windows XP SP3.
If you have installed Windows XP SP3 and are experiencing functionality issues with a program that is other than above three mentioned, then
follow these steps-
Step 1: Restart the computer to see whether this resolves the issue.
