Bootup problem in Windows and application takes very long

I have a big problem with my computer.

    Configuration:

    ASUS P5Q-E
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.67 GHz
    4 x 1 GB DDR2 PC2 8500 Cases 5-5-5-5-15 (Kingston Hyper X)
    NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB PCI E
    Western Digital 640GB (SATA)
    Western Digital 1TB (SATA)
    Windows XP Home Edition Original

    (Second test even config)

    Seegate Barracuda 120 GB
    Windows Vista Home Premium (original)

We start from the case just after installing the operating system and drivers. I recently installed a media player software from official website.

    Problem 1:
when you restart the machine before installing the software mixing it takes at least 4-5 minutes to start Windows.

    Problem 2:
software is not resource intensive (300 MB of RAM) but still it takes 2 minutes to start and around 15 minutes to load the library while on the other computer is an Athlon 64 X2 4500 + 1GB DDR2 RAM it started in 15 seconds and load the library in 10 seconds.

    Problem 3:
when closing the software it crashes and I am obliged to complete the process to stop.

Can anyone explain me what is the problem with my Windows and why does application takes very long time to load?

I would advise you to look in the Event log to see if you have the any error or warning messages. Have you tried to connect your hard drive to another port of your motherboard? I have been slow on my P5Q-E, I switched to Sata port and it worked.

Thank for the information but I look in the event log but there is nothing abnormal. I didn't even get any error crash message from media player application. Then what is the peoblem: Hard Drive? Drivers? Config too powerful or poorly chosen?

Did you made any test with the drive to another sata port of motherboard? However it sounds like a bad power supply. Also try to burn the recovery console and see what happens. You can even try to use Live CD and see what happens.
