ATI2MTAG.SYS error in windows xp

hi,
i have Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 1333MHz
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3
Graphics card: SAPPHIRE HD 4850
Hard Drives: Samsung S-Ata, 2x 160GB, Samsung 1x 500GB
CD-Rom: LG 52x
S-ata DVD-Rom: LG 16x
S-ATA DVD burner: SH-223f
Samsung S-Ata, 2x 160GB, Samsung 1x 500GB,i keep getting this ATI2MTAG.SYS error after upgrading computer to Windows XP.I have tried several things including updateing the catalyist software all ati drivers and exchanging my VC for a new one at the place where i bought it,what is the solution?Can anyone help!!!

This issue might occur if a system thread generates an exception that the error handler does not catch. This exception can be caused by any of the following:

• If this issue occurs after the first restart during Windows Setup or after Setup is complete, the computer might not have sufficient hard disk space to run Windows XP.
• The computer BIOS might be incompatible with Windows XP, or it might have to be updated.
• The video adapter drivers might be incompatible with Windows XP.
• A device driver or a system service might be damaged.
• If the issue is associated with the Win32k.sys file, it might be caused by a third-party remote control program.

hi,
I think I found the solution.You must uninstall graphic card drivers from manufacturers site. Use Driver Cleaner 3 and do it in a SAFE MODE!Next, you have to mod CATALYST 8.6,They are stable on ours Windows XP SP3. It works ok now,ASUS should change these drivers on their site.

If you have updated the video adapter drivers and the problem persists, or if you cannot start Windows in safe mode, the problem might be caused by a different, unsigned driver. Remove all drivers.if removing unsigned drivers does not resolve the issue, try moving all third-party driver files from the %Windir%\System32\Drivers folder to a different location
