Camino is a navigator for Mac OS X which uses the engine of returned Gecko for the posting of the Web pages. Although taking again the central element of Firefox, the remainder of the software rests on Cocoa, in particular for the interface. Compared to Firefox, Camino is often appreciated for its best reactivity and its interface much more in connection with philosophy Mac OS X. it loses there on the other hand in the passing the system of extensions.
The developers currently work on version 2.0, and beta 2 besides has just appeared. The innovations are primarily at the level of the management of the mark-pages and the history, but of other elements are also concerned:
- The open tree structures during the displacement of a mark-page are automatically once closed again the destination reached
- The possibility of moving the mark-pages imported since a file HTML
- The correct posting of “let us favicons” (icons of the Web sites) in the history and the mark-pages
- Support of the importation of the mark-pages since SeaMonkey 2
- The automatic assumption of responsibility of Growl, if it is installed, for the notifications of remote loadings
- Resolution of a bug of posting with the mitres under Mac OS X 10.4

There remain still bugs, and it is always about a beta release, even if work advances. In spite of the strong competition which risk to impose Safari 4, the last grinding of Camino can be downloaded since this page.
