    OMFG can't go through reformating after partitioning

    could somebody help me with this please...
    i reformat my pc p4 2.26 when i finished the partition part the system can't go through installing the xp because it says the drive can't be partitioned or damaged. i just bought a new seagate 80gig ide hard drive. any suggestion is welcome...

    Hey!
    Try your hard disk on other computer, if it works then the issue might be of the ide cable or power calibration. If it doesn't then Replace your hard drive as its new it would be under warranty...

    Try to download the following software and check are you able to do so or not if you still face the same issue than send your Hard drive to the manufacturer.

    tnx for the advices. but still retried partitioning and i got this message/technical information in blue screen: stop: 0x00000050 (0xF79EC4AB, 0x00000000, 0xF79EC4AB, 0x00000000) partmgr.sys address F79EC4AB base at F79EA000, DateStamp 00000000. could you please help me with this. tnx in advance guys...

    again i gave another try but the unpartitioned space that appeared was over the capacity of the hard drive i used which was only 40gig. it gave me 56+gig unpartitioned space. i'm now all the more confused. please help.....
