Spell check in Windows Vista

When I am trying the spell check in Vista, I am getting this weird error - "This language is no longer available for spell checking. Please select another in the spelling options dialog box." How come vista cannot understand english and say that this language is not available when my Vista is english version OS only!!

Make sure that the spell checker is enabled? If spell checker is enabled, then try changing the language. You should already have it set to English, but change it to, say French and then back to English again.

Re: Spell check in Windows Vista

I have three machines running vista. Two of them 32bit versions and one 64bit and I have google toolbar installed on all three. This works great as a spell checker for IE in vista. Have yet to have any issues related to the toolbar.

Spell Checker is a gadget that will add a simple spell checker to your Vista Sidebar or desktop.

Spell Checker has an input box for users to enter text to check for spelling errors. After pressing the check spelling button, the user is displayed (via flyout) suggestions for words caught by the spell checker.

Download Spell Checker 1.2.1

And if what Gary said doesn't work ,you might check to see if your dictionary file has become detached or corrupted.

Re: Spell check in Windows Vista

Thank you so much.
Very easy instructions to follow - I was getting really frustrated with my new computer & tempted to go back to another provider!
