Unable to install Windows Xp on my laptop

Hey Guys,

I have recently bought a new Acer laptop. I'm unable to install Windows Xp on it. Can any help me out how do i install Windows Xp on it? Any help would be appreciated.

An upgrade cd is not a full install disc. It needs to have a previous version of windows installed such as Win98, to upgrade to XP. So if your HDD is clean i.e. you have formated it etc, there is nothing for the upgrade disc to identify to upgrade. You need a FULL XP install disc, unless you install Win98 first and then use the XP update disc to upgrade to XP.

Hey try out the following steps to resolve your issue.

• Change the default settings on security and firewall settings for XP SP2.
  
• Try uninstalling SP2 until all of the issues have been resolved.
  
• Inform the software vendor of the issues. Receive updates from software vendor for Windows XP SP2 compliant software.
