Lnk files cannot back to exe in Windows XP.

Hi friends, recently I have an issue with the Lnk files in my System, I am just trying to return Lnk file to the original format. But however I can’t able to do this. I have tried many things, so is there any steps that I can make use for repairing Lnk file back to exe. I don’t have that much of information about this files and its process. If you guys have any ideas then please let me know your reply will be thanks and appreciated.

There may be chances that, the file that you are trying to back in Exe was not for any Exe file, it may be for some other items store in your System. So make verification whether the Lnk file that you are trying to make changes were originally .exe file.
